Normal Sounds of a brand new ryker?
Re: Normal Sounds of a brand new ryker?
Zoot, I definitely have plastic pieces rattling but this sound is a little different , no idea what it is . Will just bring it up on the first service , until then will just enjoy riding it.

Zoot, hi I've looked and all panels are fixed that I can get to, I think I've found it tho left mud guard/fender has a compartment that holds the wire loom for park light and indercator it could be 1 of 2 things, loom is taping inside it or the cover that protects the loom from water and stones under the fender witch is hard to get to may have a lose screw allowing panel to tap

Well update on my mystery sound, I gave her a wash tonight and I found that the panel between the gas cap and glove box at its front was not clipped in, funny tho I'm a panelbeater, I did notice a miss alignment of the box and it but never looked hard at it. So not shore if it will fix my sound but I'll wait till tomorrow to ride it and listen.

Thank God the clunking sound is normal. I heard it several times when I would stop at a light and start up again. The sound had me worrying for a while. I'm glad I know what it is now.

No sound still there, only just the 2 one I know is the air box on the left as you sit on the bike it rattles and my misterious buzz from the front could be the wiring in the fender but I'm thinking more likely to be the water pump or oil pump or can just working not sign of pending problem done over 600km bike not showing anything that its a concern
Re: Normal Sounds of a brand new ryker?
I just picked up my Ryker yesterday. I too am hearing a slight rattling sound from the front. It almost sounds like cards in a tire spoke, and it seems to be coming from the wheels. The bike seems to run just fine, but it is odd that it's making that sound. I didn't see anything in the tires or spokes, and moving it while it's turned off didn't reproduce the sound. I'm not worried about it based on comments from this forum, but thought I'd share my experiences.

Re: Normal Sounds of a brand new ryker?
My bike was making a clacking sound from the right front . I considered it normal but annoying. I jacked the wheel up and spun it with no noise.
I thought it must be the CVT. Then my wheel locked up !!. Turns out it was the wheel pins that go through the brake disc rubbing on the bearing housing.
Check the pins and wheel torque immediately. It is not normal. Mine has no noise now.

I have the same exact thing on my Rally. it sounds exactly like cards in spokes coming from the front wheels. You hear it primarily at a constant speed, regardless of the speed, but it goes away on harder acceleration or braking. I looked over the wheels and the pins that come out of the wheels and everything looks fine, the sound is driving me crazy though lolJenko1447 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 7:08 amI just picked up my Ryker yesterday. At about 37mph I start hearing buzzing and tapping but I’m guessing it must be normal after reading all the blogs.

If you give lots of fuel starting out from dead stop, you avoid the clunking.904 Rally F1 Team wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2019 3:25 pmThank God the clunking sound is normal.
