The Manual says to warm up the engine, then shut off, wait 30 seconds & pull dip stick out, wipe off, then fully screw in & remove to check. Makes a huge difference in reading, vs. checking it cold after sitting overnight.

Yep, the bike has to be warm and checked within 30 seconds or so of turning it off. If you check it cold it will register below the minimum mark.

One must take what the dealer says with a grain of salt; my dealer said 1st oil change is at 3,800 miles, when in fact it is clearly 6,000 miles, according to Manual.
