Turbo addition

#1 Post by ginger_itch » Sat Dec 22, 2018 5:27 pm

Is there anyone else already wondering how they will get a X3 or Skidoo turbo on the Ryker? I am looking to get a Ryker in the next month and am always looking for ways to make things faster. I am already gathering part numbers and looking for tuners lol

Just remember that whatever power the engine delivers has to go through the CVT belts considering that that the 600 and 900 use the same transmission. More power = more wear. This is one reason I went for the 600 (in addition to my F3L) I'll be interested to see how long the CVT lasts before requiring maintainance between the three Ryker variants.

The nice thing about belts is they are simple you can change them and it's like a whole new transmission. I haven't done it yet but if the dealer can do it I can do it.

I'm certain a Turbo kit is coming and I'd get one just for the cool factor even if I'm ripping belts every month.

Based on the commercial for the snow mobile (ace 900 turbo) it has the same type of CVT that we do, so it may not be that much of a problem. Also, consider the tiny tire we have in back, that lets loose really easy, sure, we'd add R1 compound tires all around on something like that, and upgrade the suspension a bit, but it'd still not have too much grip, the trans may well survive.

Now we just have to find a cheap part-out ace 900 turbo and we can start playing and comparing. I suspect the electronics are a bit different, tp be able to properly read the pressure, not to mention larger injectors and maybe fuel pump.
