Re: Tire Lifetime?

"I believe the tires on the rally edition are made of softer rubber for better traction off-road" Just curious, what makes you think the Rally tires are softer? One of the early reviews I read said that the rally edition tires were not as good on the highway, because they were made with different t...

Re: Tire Lifetime?

Another thought. I believe the tires on the rally edition are made of softer rubber for better traction off-road. If this is true, they may wear out quicker than the street tires on the non-rally Rykers. The tires on my BMW Z3 roadster were made of softer rubber for performance driving and lasted on...

Re: Tire Lifetime?

Motorcycle tires usually only last about 6,000 miles at best. However, automobile tires last about ten times that long. Since the tires on the Ryker are flat like an automobile tire, they should last much longer than motorcycle tires. However, if folks are burning rubber and driving aggressively it ...

First Service

The manual says that you should get your first service at 3000 miles, but the dealership said it doesn't need one until 6000 miles. Hard to believe that the dealership would turn down the business, but always leery about not following the manual with regard to required maintenance. Now have about 2,...

Re: WHY Does The Ryker Get such POOR MPG???

I read a post from a Ryker rider who said that he got the same milage from 87 octane regular as he got from the recommended 91 octane premium. He also did not see much in the way of performance difference. However, there may be minor engine damage if there was some pre-ignition that would not show u...

Re: passenger comfort?

I Put a standard passenger seat on my 600 with the short backrest. Took my wife for a short ride around the neighborhood and she is afraid that she will fall off if we were to go out on the highway and take curves at any speed. Of course she is use to riding on the back of my old Honda Goldwing with...

Re: Oldest Ryker Rider

I'm 78 and have been riding motorcycles since I was thirteen. The Ryker is my 21st bike during that 65 year period. About 400,000 miles total.

Re: New to the Ryker forum? Feel free to introduce yourself here!

Hi all, having a heap of fun with my 3 week old Ryker 600, just had sway bar fitted can highly recommend adding it, the difference in handling is definitely noticeable.. Looking to catch up with any local Rykers in Perth 😉 Would like to hear more about the sway bar. Does it enable you to take curve...

Re: New to the Ryker forum? Feel free to introduce yourself here!

My name is Terry and I live in Chandler, AZ. Bought the Ryker in mid-December of 2018, but am just now joining the forum. I am 77 years old and have been riding motorcycles since age 13. The big motorcycles are just too heavy for me any more and a small one would just get kicked around by the wind. ...

Re: WHY Does The Ryker Get such POOR MPG???

Forgot to mention that I am getting about 39 mpg on my 600 and have about 3,000 miles on the Ryker. RPMs do seem to be very high for the speed. Wish there was an overdrive for flatland cruising. I have also been using 91 octane gasoline, but have seen some posts that claim 87 octane runs fine and do...
