Ive over 8000 now but most country roads rather than interstates. No sign of engine problems and no oil consumption. Bad gas consumption but has not got worse since 1000. Good to see the grips seem to be working. If the alternator is really unable to provide the extra umph then over a long ride the battery might run down as it would be making up the difference. I've done about 10,000km and consistantly get 7l/100km even if being very gentle in acceleration and minimal hi speeds. Pretty poor showing and dont understand why the 900ACE isnt returning a much higher efficiency. Seems the Skidoo with 900ACE is just if not even more efficient than the Ryker even ...

I understand the alternator on the first year production Rykers has insufficient VA capacity to safely run heated grips and that is one of the reasons I'm told why it is not an option. For sure I'd like heated grips for early and late year riding in this part of Canada. I got spoiled from my 2 wheel...

I've now driven over 4,000km 50% true "backroads" and the rest a mixture of rural and major roads with some "hi-way". The stock windshield is fine up to about 85 km/h but helmet buffeting gets bad after that without crouching down close to the stock windshield and quite impractical for more than a f...
