Re: Hi vis or not?
I used to do a whole lot of tour bicycle riding along the central Ca. coast. Thousands of miles a year in all types of weather. Trust me. Hi vis is the only way to go. It was very apparent when two riders were a long distance ahead of me, one in a multi colored regular jersey and one with the lime h...

Carry-on bag install
I wanted a simple travel bag attachment for behind the seat on my 600. I used the existing two pre-drilled holes under the seat to attach two half inch metal emt tubes, bent 90 degrees at one end and capped them with plastic hole plugs. To attach them, I shoved two pieces of 3/8 ths fuel line into o...

Re: Insurance
I did a lot of research when I bought my 600 a couple of months ago. I wound up with Geico. For the basic 10/30, pl and pd with comprehensive it was a tad over 275 per year. I went for 100/300 pl and pd at 330 per year. I know a lot of people will tell you to just get the 10/30 or none at all becaus...

Re: Any Thoughts On What Protectant For Dull Gray Plastic Parts?
I guess we are talking two diff. directions. I never use a protectant, don't see the need. The Black Wax Combo has solved all my staining and spotting problems for years on my black Vette and XLR and now the Ryker. The rinsing off part of your question has me confused. I wash mine with Blue Coral, r...

Re: Any Thoughts On What Protectant For Dull Gray Plastic Parts?
I use Turtle Wax Black. It comes in a three stage kit: cleaner, spray detailer, carnuba wax. I haven't used the carnuba wax portion yet but the cleaner ( which is really a mild rubbing compound, I think ) and then an application of the spray detailer really worked well. I had some bad heel scuffs on...

Re: clunking
Mine has clunked and banged from day one on takeoff. I took it to the dealer and a mechanic jacked it up to splain to me that it was normal. While on the jack he rocked the rear wheel back and forth to show me the lash before engagement. He was confident that there was nothing wrong and to just ride...

Weather cover
Can someone tell me if a Can Am Spyder cover will work on a Ryker 600 ?. I have been pricing them and it seems like the Spyder covers go for a lot less money, Especially when it comes to covers on discounted sale.
