WHY Does The Ryker Get such POOR MPG???

I mean, I get only around 33-34 MPG, and I don't even ride over 60 MPH!
My 1998 Jetta TDI routinely got 55 MPG, and it is 1,900cc vs. 600, 90 HP vs. 47, and a whole lot HEAVIER!!! Proportionally, the Ryker should get well over 100 MPG, IMHO!!! Seems like designers were lackadaisical!!! :sour: I'm sure it can't be THAT un-aerodynamic! And I'm sure the CVT isn't THAT inefficient!

I agree on the fun factor and it’s still cheaper than commuting with my big SUV

Have you not noticed the very high RPM's the engine runs at. You would think it was an electric motor.
I dont think these engines are going to last very long.
Any thoughts on that.?

I think you're right, in that I don't expect the engine to last for hundreds of thousands of miles.
That being said, I won't ever put those kinds of miles on my Ryker.
The engine will last if routine maintenance is performed.
Just make sure the oil and filters are changed and keep an eye on the temperature gauge.

I can count on 37-38 MPG and had a high of 40MPG. 900 ACE, econ mode only. 2285 miles so far. No B.S.

There have been cars that have had CVTs (Honda, Subaru) and they got great MPG. In fact, that is one of the benefits that you SHOULD have with a CVT. Can-Am could have ended up with better MPG, but obviously didn't try to.
